Emilie Fabricius Hacke has worked on numerous Danish films and TV series, but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that she finally embarked on her journey to become a director.
Since then, she has been devoted to conveying fragile emotions through film, music videos, and commercials with a dream of changing the perception of what kind of stories need to be told. She wants to shine a light on people whose stories and inner conflict have been overlooked and secondary in classical storytelling. To her, these hidden feelings are what make you stop, pause, and think for a second—of the people around you and all the things left unsaid.
She has a master’s degree in film studies from the University of Copenhagen and is currently studying at the alternative film school 18Frames.
Her first short film, En Svale Gør Ingen Sommer (2021) was shortlisted for a Robert.
Her second short film En Anden Uden Mig (2024) is nominated for a Robert.
